About us

Our story
We started developing the idea for Theotokos Rosaries in 2019, when Gabriele couldn’t find a rosary she truly loved. The first prototype was lovingly crafted for our daughter-in-law, sparking the beginning of this journey. Our rosaries are inspired by the most beautiful basilicas in the world, drawing from the rich beauty that Catholic culture has to offer. This inspiration has guided us in creating designs that reflect our heritage and faith

We are Gabriele and Tomas
Theotokos Team
a young married couple from Lithuania. Gabriele is a reverted cradle Catholic, and Tomas is a cradle Protestant who converted to Catholicism a couple of years ago.

By the grace of God, we rediscovered our Christian faith during a period of introspection and limited external interaction. This led us to explore our deepest beliefs, challenge them, and ultimately embrace the Truth of the Catholic faith. We fell in love with the Traditional Latin Mass and began our journey to embrace the heritage of Catholic tradition.
-
Currently, we both work at a diocesan youth center, where we can share our faith and serve our community.
Theotokos rosaries has been our side husstle for over three years now and with the help of Our Lady, whom we title Our Brand Manager, we are hoping to go grow it into a full-time business .

Where We Come From
Tomas has a background in marketing and business administration, while Gabriele has experience in visual design from her undergraduate degree in illustration. Our different skillsets allow us to balance fluid creativity with systematic thinking. Gabriele handles design, packaging, branding, and communication, while Tomas manages marketing, website maintenance, strategy, and the technical aspects of running an online shop.
-
We are blessed to have a community of friends and customers whose encouragement, feedback, and shared love for the rosary have been invaluable to our journey. We have poured our hearts into Theotokos Rosaries, from the initial idea to prototypes, brand concept, packaging design, copywriting, and every aspect of this website. It’s truly a family business!

Why Theotokos?
Aside from our growing devotion to the Blessed Mother, we love the connection between the title ,,God bearer“ and the prayer of the rosary which bears within itself the beauty of Christ‘s incarnation, death and resurrection. Just as through Mary we received our Lord Jesus Christ, so through Mary we received the Holy rosary and through the Rosary, a closer relationship to God. The name connects the timeless tradition and contemporary call for mysticism.

The God Bearer
,,IF ANYONE DOES NOT CONFESS THAT GOD IS TRULY EMMANUEL, AND THAT ON THIS ACCOUNT THE HOLY VIRGIN IS THE “THEOTOKOS” (FOR ACCORDING TO THE FLESH SHE GAVE BIRTH TO THE WORD OF GOD BECOME FLESH BY BIRTH) LET HIM BE ANATHEMA.”(The Council of Ephesus, 431 AD)
(greek: God Bearer, The Mother of God) is one of the earliest titles of the Blessed Virgin Mary as well as an ancient Catholic dogma with Christ at its center. In resistance to Nestorian heresy that denied Christ’s dual nature, the Catholic Church declared that Jesus Christ is fully man and fully God with both of His natures – divine and human, united in His One person and therefore Mary is the Mother of God.
